What is Inositol Powder?
 
Inositol, also known as cyclohexanol, is widely distributed in animals and plants and is a factor for animals and microorganisms. It was first isolated from myocardium and liver. There are multiple cis and trans isomers of cyclohexanol in nature, and the naturally occurring isomer is cis-1,2,3,5-trans-4,6-cyclohexanol.

Inositol is a fine white crystal or crystalline powder. Odorless, sweet. Relative density is 1.752,1.524 (dihydrate). Stability in the air. To heat, acid and alkali stability. Its aqueous solution was neutral to litmus. No optical activity. Soluble in water 6ml per gram. Hardly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether and chloroform.
